The pilot project for Casa Viva is based on the east side of San Jose, Costa Rica. This strategic decision was made in large part because Viva's Latin American office is here in San Jose. Together with Patrick MacDonald and Alfredo Mora, the decision was made to network along the lines that Viva had already created - relationships with local churches, the local government, and other local organizations working on behalf of children and families. Viva and Casa Viva share a common goal and work side-by-side addressing the issues facing children worldwide.

Through our deep partnership with Viva International there are seven more countries lined up to begin their own Casa Viva program, the first of which is Bolivia. We have already spent a good bit of time training the new leaders, and this fall we return to Bolivia to help them kick off their program.
